Diana is in charge of all the historical dance training at LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art). She is frequently called upon by members of the Directing faculty to choreograph dances for productions, both public and 'in house'. Typical genres are Shakespeare, Jacobean Tragedy, Restoration Comedy, plays by Chekhov and more modern productions such as Arcadia by Tom Stoppard and Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel.
In addition to the creative side of life at LAMDA, Diana teaches across the acting department which includes undergraduate and postgraduate courses and those for overseas students, usually of one or two semester duration. Most of the students get an opportunity to perform some of the dances they learn at the annual 'Dance Night' which is held in the Academy's Theatre.
Many of her past students are acclaimed actors in theatre, film and television, enjoying success both in the UK and abroad.
The development of western Social Dancing (the short title is 'Historical Dance'!) encompasses the Medieval period up to the 20th century and students learn a cross-section of dances from these periods. To complement the Russian influence with the Chekhov units, Diana also gives the occasional class in Russian Folk Dance, which she was fortunate to study while a student at the Royal Academy of Dance Teachers' Course (with Maria Fay).
